Standards & Regulations

Significant changes continue to occur with many of the Standards that impact on the window industry. AS4055 (Wind loads for housing) and AS1288 (Glass) have already changed with amendments pending. AS3959 (Building for bushfires) will be published early in 2007 and AS2047 (Windows) is under review as the AWA develops a Trans-Tasman ICP (Industry Code of Practice). Added to these are the energy efficiency provisions for compliance to the BCA (Building Code of Australia) for all classes of buildings.

Arising out of this is the necessity to comply with all of the Standards and regulations when designing, manufacturing and selecting window and doors.

This one day course will provide an in depth view of these Standards and their complementarity with each other and to Federal and State Regulations. The course includes case studies and a workshop.
