Introduction to Windows

Competency Description:

This one day course introduces the key technical essentials of windows and their performance, providing a broad overview of materials, design, performance, Standards, the Building Code of Australia and responsibilities under Trade Practices. This course includes participative sessions and a certificate of attendance. Comprehensive support notes are provided to each participant.

Target Audience:

This course is suitable for all newcomers to the window industry regardless of their job role and who have been in the industry for less than 18 months.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of window design.
Name and describe the components of windows and doors and window industry nomenclature.
Identify relevant Standards.
Explain the effects that window design and material selection have on structural, energy and acoustic
performance.
